The Rainbow Coalition, headed by Minister Nyesom Wike, has revealed its slate of candidates for the 2027 gubernatorial and legislative elections in Rivers State. This coalition, which spans both the All Progressives Congress and the Peoples Democratic Party, aims to rally support for President Bola Tinubu's re-election while allowing members to vie for other positions under different political banners.
The unveiling took place at the Yakubu Gowon Stadium in Port Harcourt on Tuesday, October 27. Among the candidates are those running for governor, senatorial, and representative seats, as well as those seeking positions in the Rivers State House of Assembly. The coalition's spokesman, Lere Olayinka, provided the names, constituencies, and political affiliations of the candidates to journalist Samuel Omotere via X.
