Kenneth Taylor, Gustav Isaksen, Mattia Zaccagni and Tijjani Noslin also scored as Lazio thrashed 10-man Sassuolo 6-2.
Romano Floriani scored his first Serie A goal as Lazio secured a dominant 6-2 victory over Sassuolo on Tuesday, propelling the team to the top of the Italian league. The 17-year-old, great-grandson of fascist dictator Benito Mussolini, opened the scoring in the 17th minute. The win was crucial for Lazio, who currently have 25 points from their opening nine games, three points ahead of reigning champions Inter Milan.
Sassuolo, playing with 10 men after Kristian Thorstvedt's red card in the 31st minute, managed to score twice through Gustav Isaksen and Sebastiano Esposito. Mattia Zaccagni also found the back of the net for Lazio, while Tijjani Noslin netted twice for Sassuolo, despite missing two penalties. Despite the impressive win, Lazio's manager Gennaro Gattuso urged his team not to become complacent by focusing on the league standings. He emphasized that the team must continue to work hard and maintain focus on each match.
