Vice President Kashim Shettima has criticized Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), accusing him of lacking anything substantive to offer Nigerians, other than statistics. Shettima made this remark during an event in Abuja on Monday. Despite acknowledging Obi's courage in deciding not to reinstate the petrol subsidy, Shettima argued that Obi's administration is focused on implementing challenging yet essential measures to revitalize the economy.
Shettima contended that Obi merely talks in statistics without presenting any viable solutions. "I respect Peter Obi for having the courage to say he’s not going to restore the petrol subsidy, but beyond spouting some statistics, Mr Peter Obi has absolutely nothing to offer," Shettima stated. This assertion has sparked reactions on social media, with supporters of Obi defending him and criticizing Shettima.
