Northern senators seek probe into killing of 26 Taraba worshippers

The Northern Senators Forum has called for a thorough investigation into the killing of at least 26 people in Binari community, Taraba State, following a barbaric attack by suspected bandits. The victims, who included women, children, and worshippers who had just finished Juma’at prayers, also included members of a local vigilante group.

In response to the attack, the forum has urged security agencies to strengthen security operations in the area, including the establishment of a Forward Operating Base and intelligence-led patrols along the Kompany-Asusar route and the River Benue corridor. The forum has also demanded an urgent security reinforcement in the area and called for the identification, apprehension, and prosecution of the perpetrators.
