Sanusi: GE16 will be Pakatan’s last term in Putrajaya and Perikatan’s final term as Opposition

Kota Bharu, October 25 - Perikatan Nasional (PN) election director Datuk Seri Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor has declared that the 16th general election will be the last for Pakatan Harapan in Putrajaya, while Perikatan will be their final term as the Opposition. Speaking to supporters at a gathering for Muslim unity at Stadium Sultan Muhammad IV in Kedah, Sanusi stated, "This is Pakatan's final term governing Malaysia and Perikatan's final term as the Opposition. After this, we (Perikatan) will form the federal government."

According to Sanusi, a PN government would prioritize a new approach to national development, focusing on collaboration with Islam. He also mentioned that the PN leadership will decide on their participation in the upcoming Sarawak state election after the Sarawak polls scheduled for November 14 in Melaka. While the Sarawak state assembly's five-year term ends in February 2027, the exact date for the Sarawak polls remains uncertain, with a possible date of December 12 or 19.

Sanusi also revealed that informal discussions have taken place regarding synchronizing elections across the four PN-ruled states with the 16th general election. However, no final decision has been made. He appealed to party members and supporters to work diligently and encouraged Malaysians who value peace and justice to give PN a chance to assume the role of the next government.
