Manchester United coach Michael Carrick will start the match against Bournemouth without club captain Bruno Fernandes, according to a report by The Athletic. The 32-year-old captain will sit on the bench as a substitute for the team's eighth Premier League game at Old Trafford on Sunday. Carrick's decision comes after Fernandes was substituted after 66 minutes during a loss to Como.
When asked about the possibility of stripping Fernandes of his captaincy, Carrick stated that he always prioritizes what is best for the football club. United goalkeeper Senne Lammens confirmed that the team is united behind Carrick, and that they are all working together to improve their performance.
