Sharad Purnima, also known as Kojagiri Purnima, is a significant Hindu festival celebrated on the full moon night of the Ashwin month. Marking the beginning of the autumn season, the day is considered highly auspicious for worshipping Lakshmi to seek her blessings and resolving financial issues. Also referred to as Raas Purnima, Sharad Purnima holds special importance in Vedic astrology as it is the only day when the moon displays all sixteen Kalas, each corresponding to a distinctive human quality.
Legend has it that Lord Krishna performed his divine dance, known as Raasleela, on this very day. This year, Sharad Purnima will be observed on Sunday, October 25, 2026, with moonrise at 04:06 PM.
