Tragedy in Anambra as man allegedly kills young lady over breakup [Video]

In Anambra State, Nigeria, a tragic incident occurred where a young woman named Umuora Mmesoma was allegedly killed by her ex-boyfriend, Chima, following their breakup. According to reports, Mmesoma went missing on October 16, 2026, before her body was found. Chima reportedly confessed to the crime in a video circulating on social media, stating that he killed her in his Uga residence, placed her body in a bag, and disposed of it at an undisclosed location.

This incident has reignited discussions surrounding women's safety and the risks associated with abusive relationships. The Anambra State Police command has yet to release an official statement on the matter, but it is known that the suspect has been handed over to the police. A former Special Adviser to the Director-General of the Nigerian Meteorological Agency, Dr. Uche Nworah, expressed his shock at the incident by stating that no disagreement or heartbreak can ever justify taking another person's life.

He emphasized that love should never become a death sentence. While Nworah acknowledged the suspect's arrest, he stressed that it cannot bring back the life that has been tragically lost.
