Palmeiras dominate, beat RB Bragantino and go top of the Brasileirão

Palmeiras dominated RB Bragantino 2-0 at Arena Barueri on Saturday, securing their place at the top of the Brasileirão standings. Verdão took an early lead in the first half, but it was soon canceled out. Palmeiras secured the win from a penalty awarded after VAR reviewed a handball by Guzmán Rodríguez in the box. Maurício helped Verdão score the second goal with a well-placed shot.

Despite a great save from Tiago Volpi, Palmeiras held on for their fourth consecutive win in the tournament. With this victory, Palmeiras now have 69 points, placing them ahead of Flamengo with 67 points. RB Bragantino dropped to tenth position with a total of 41 points. Verdão will return to action on Wednesday, when they face off against Santos at Vila Belmiro in Matchday 33.
