Severe rain triggered a rapid flow of muddy water near Silver Cascade Falls in Kodaikanal, Tamil Nadu, disrupting traffic and leaving vehicles stuck for up to two hours. The incident has sparked concerns over road safety as the Northeast monsoon intensifies across Tamil Nadu. A viral video shows water cascading down the hillside and flooding the road at the popular tourist destination.
Tourists heading to Kodaikanal for a weekend getaway faced a nightmare when heavy rains and flooding cut off roads, leaving cars and buses stranded. The Northeast monsoon, fueled by a low-pressure area over Comorin, has brought unsettled weather conditions to the region, with the Regional Meteorological Centre issuing orange and yellow alerts for several districts due to heavy to very heavy rainfall until October 26.
