Scores, recaps, highlights and more from Week 8 high school football games around the South Sound.
High school football roundup: A thrilling Lakes victory over Peninsula secured the 3A PSL Nisqually division title for the Lancers. Despite the game's length and numerous flags, the 21-18 triumph was secured by Lakes' interception of a crucial pass near midfield. Running back Korben Reed, who finished with 142 yards on 16 carries, led the charge with a standout 61-yard run in the fourth quarter.
Reed, alongside his fellow running back Toetu Moliga, formed the dynamic duo "Sonic and Knuckles," complementing each other's strengths on offense and defense. This victory propelled Lakes to a 7-1 season record, setting them up for a top 10 seed in the WIAA's Week 10 playoff seeding.
