2027: Reserves figures cannot feed hungry Nigerians – Makinde blasts Tinubu

Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde has criticized President Bola Tinubu, arguing that the country's foreign reserves figures are insufficient to address the nation's hunger and poverty issues. At the launch of the MAD, Resetter Movement in Lagos, Makinde stated that foreign reserves alone cannot feed the hungry people of Nigeria. He emphasized that the current economic situation shows that the average Nigerian is not benefiting from the government's reforms.

The governor urged Tinubu to prioritize policies that directly impact citizens' lives, rather than focusing on economic figures. Makinde highlighted the rising cost of living, making it impossible for many families to afford basic food items, and called for the administration to prioritize food security and job creation ahead of the 2027 general elections.
