Los Premios Princesa de Asturias 2026, en siete momentos: Del mensaje a los jóvenes de Leonor, la emoción de Messi a la sorpresa a capela de Patti Smith

This Friday, starting at 6:30 PM, the Princesa de Asturias Awards ceremony will take place at the Teatro Campoamor in Oviedo, presided over by King Felipe and Queen Letizia, along with their daughters. This year, the awards recognize the excellence and dedication of Patti Smith, Julian Barnes, and Leo Messi, among others. The recipients began arriving at the theater around 6:00 PM.

Following the morning sessions, chaired for the first time by Princess Leonor in her own capacity at the Hotel de la Reconquista, the eight laureates - including U.S. astronaut Christina Koch, journalist and historian Timothy Garton Ash, Japanese animation studio Ghibli, scientists David Klenerman, Shankar Balasubramanian and Pascal Mayer, and the Bóveda Global de Semillas de Svalbard - will receive the award's symbolic sculpture by Joan Miró and listen to speeches from King Felipe and Princess Leonor.
