Lakers vs. Clippers: What to watch in second game of season
LOS ANGELES — The Los Angeles Lakers established an early connection around the basket in their season opener.
In the Los Angeles Lakers' second game of the season, they will face the Los Angeles Clippers at Crypto.com Arena. Both teams had convincing victories in their respective season openers, with the Lakers scoring 66 points in the paint and the Clippers scoring 56 points in the paint against Sacramento. Key players to watch in the paint battle include Luka Dončić, Austin Reaves, and Walker Kessler for the Lakers, and Darius Garland for the Clippers.
The Lakers' guards and wings will need to create openings and limit penetration, while the Clippers' defense must prevent easy scoring around the basket. Collin Sexton, who returns from injury, will join the rotation and could provide a new dimension to the Lakers' offense, but his performance will depend on how his body reacts after his injury.
The Lakers' defensive rotation will be affected by Jake LaRavia's questionable status with a right ankle sprain, adding another variable to consider.
