Photographer Gerrard Gethings has gained acclaim for his unique series, Do You Look Like Your Cat, which pairs humans with felines in whimsical portraits. The project followed the success of his previous card game, Do You Look Like Your Dog? in 2018. Gethings found photographing cats more challenging than dogs, as cats are more cautious and harder to photograph in a studio.
To recruit participants, he turned to social media, specifically looking for people who closely resembled the cats. The process involved setting up a studio at the cats' homes using flash photography to freeze the action. Gethings emphasizes that people often enjoy being compared to cats and are enthusiastic about participating in the project.
