The pop icon expressed his gratitude, stating that "romantic love and poetry are the only real things — the truest aspects of our human existence, the firmest thought, the clearest expression that emerges from our spirit and our hearts from the time we are children."
Castro, known for his emotive performances and hits like "Amor" and "Azul," highlighted how romantic love has been the driving force throughout his life. He accepted the accolade on behalf of romantic love and poetry, considering them "the most beautiful things I have ever possessed."
