Austria Announces Jobs for Skilled Pakistanis

The Bureau of Emigration and Overseas Employment (BEOE) in Austria has announced new job opportunities for skilled Pakistani workers across various sectors experiencing labor shortages. Under the Red-White-Red Card scheme, eligible Pakistanis can live and work in Austria. Occupations in demand include IT professionals, electrical and electronics engineers, drivers, retail workers, shopkeepers, restaurant workers, chefs, and kitchen staff.

The Red-White-Red Card, a residence and work permit typically valid for two years, initially restricts foreign workers to their original employer. However, after this period, individuals can apply for a Red-White-Red Card Plus, granting them broader access to the Austrian job market, provided they meet specific criteria. The BEOE indicated that 15,000 such cards may be issued in 2027, though the exact details of this number and occupations have not been confirmed by official Austrian sources.
