Real Madrid rout Leipzig to continue perfect European start
MADRID: Real Madrid claimed a third Champions League victory in as many games by thrashing RB Leipzig 4-1 on Wednesday, with Kylian Mbappe and Yan Diomande among the goals for Jose Mourinho’s side.
Real Madrid secured a dominant 4-1 victory over RB Leipzig in the Champions League, marking their third triumph in three matches. Goals from Kylian Mbappe, Bernardo Silva, Arda Guler, and Yan Diomande fueled the Spanish side's perfect start to European competition. Mbappe, who has scored in each of Madrid's Champions League games this season, expressed his desire to improve further and took charge of the three-goal haul.
Driven by Mourinho, who started Vinicius with a four-match La Liga ban, Madrid capitalized on Leipzig's defensive frailties, with Courtois denying Romulo Cardoso in stoppage time. Despite their domestic struggles, the perfect start to the Champions League phase uplifted Madrid's morale ahead of the crucial La Liga Clasico against Barcelona.
