Police investigate burglary at Man Utd captain Fernandes’ house
No family members were reportedly at the property during the break-in, and the intruders spent less than five minutes inside before police arrived.
Cheshire Police are probing a break-in at the residence of Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes, according to a report by The Athletic. The incident occurred shortly after the club's 4-1 Champions League loss to Como in Italy. Detective Inspector Dave Jarvis informed The Athletic that police were called to the scene due to suspicious activity in the garden of a neighboring property.
Upon arrival, officers found no trace of the suspects but discovered that a burglary had taken place, with several items reportedly stolen. The report states that Fernandes' family was not present at the residence during the break-in, and the intruders were inside for less than five minutes before police arrived. The Athletic quoted a club statement to this effect.
Reuters has reached out to Cheshire Police and Manchester United for further comment. Fernandes has played in every match for United this season and captained the team during their recent seven-match winless streak.
