Halwasiya increases stake PC Jeweller again, pumps in ₹175 crore in two equity transactions

Aditya Kumar Halwasiya, the promoter of healthcare and FMCG firm, has augmented his stake in PC Jeweller once more by acquiring 5.51 crore equity shares at ₹18.39 per share, an investment amounting to approximately ₹101 crore. This is Halwasiya's second substantial investment in the jewellery company within a brief span. Earlier, he had bought 5.10 crore shares of PC Jeweller on October 15 at ₹14.43 per share, investing around ₹74 crore.

Following these two transactions, Halwasiya has amassed a total of 10.61 crore shares, investing a combined total of about ₹175 crore. The repeated investment unfolds at a time when PC Jeweller showcased enhanced profitability, a debt-free balance sheet, and a renewed emphasis on business expansion. In the September quarter, the company's net profit surged 58 per cent to ₹331 crore (₹210 crore) and its sales witnessed a 28 per cent increase to ₹1,054 crore.

PC Jeweller recently attained a debt-free status after settling the entire outstanding debt of its 14 consortium banks, resulting in the company having zero bank borrowings. Moreover, the firm received around ₹142 crore from export debtors in Q2 of FY27, initiating the realization of its long-standing export receivables. The company aims to inaugurate up to 100 large-format showrooms across cities within the next 12-18 months, through a blend of owned outlets and asset-light franchise operations.

PC Jeweller has also established strategic partnerships with the National Skill Development Corporation and the Government of Uttar Pradesh under the CM YUVA scheme to expand its micro-franchise network, targeting rural and semi-urban markets. Furthermore, the firm is developing a new jewellery brand centered around demi-fine, lightweight, and lab-grown diamond jewelry designed for younger, self-purchasing consumers.

Its subsidiary, PCJ Mining SARL, has also initiated on-site development activities for its gold mining project in Chad, offering a potential avenue for backward integration into gold sourcing.
