Como secured a remarkable 4-1 victory over Manchester United in the Champions League, marking a historic night for the Italian side. Nico Paz emerged as the star of the match, scoring a brace and assisting a goal. The Lariani also claimed their first-ever European campaign, following a 4-1 win against RB Leipzig. However, injuries plagued Manchester United, with players such as Trevoh Chalobah, Moise Kean, Jesus Rodriguez, and Assane Diao missing the game.
Leny Yoro was suspended, while several key United players were injured. Ex-defenders Matthijs de Ligt made his first appearance since November 2025. Harry Maguire made a crucial mistake in the early stages, failing to keep his header on target from a corner. The game saw Como score early through Nico Paz, who ran into the area, took a touch, and drilled the ball into the far top corner.
Tasos Douvikas then extended the lead with a clinical finish, while Jacobo Ramon added a third goal. Manchester United's Joshua Zirkzee scored a late consolation goal, but it was too little, too late for the English side.
