Punjab University to Restore Private BA, MA Exams

Punjab University has announced plans to reintroduce private BA and MA examinations, sending a letter to the Speaker of the Punjab Assembly and the Higher Education Commission (HEC). The decision comes after the Punjab University Syndicate approved a resolution to restore the private BA and MA programs. The letter emphasizes that the closure of these programs has denied higher education opportunities to many individuals, particularly those residing in rural and remote regions, as well as working students.

The resolution acknowledges the crucial role private examinations played in providing access to higher education for these groups. The Syndicate has requested permission from the Punjab Assembly to resume the private BA and MA examinations. Notably, the Higher Education Commission (HEC) had previously imposed a ban on private BA and MA degree programs approximately two years ago.
