New Rings Of Power trailer pits Sauron against Middle-earth, as is tradition

Prime Video has unveiled the latest trailer for the third season of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power. The two-minute clip showcases intense action and a ominous tone as Middle-earth descends further into conflict. "Rule Them All" echoes through the trailer, accompanied by a powerful choir. Sauron, portrayed by Charlie Vickers, contemplates his path to dominance, boasting, "I will take my place as the conqueror, a sorcerer... a king."

Sauron's ambitions seem well-founded, with his Nazgûl roaming the land, instigating battles among Elves, Dwarves, and Men, and his Orc army growing in size and strength. Set five years after the events of season two, Sauron's influence appears to be expanding rapidly. As he declares to his minions, "We have work to do," reminiscent of a similar sentiment expressed by Saruman.

Galadriel, played by Morfydd Clark, grapples with the return of her deceased husband, Celeborn (Jamie Campbell Bower), as Sauron lurks in her bed. Gandalf (Daniel Weyman) faces off against the Dark Wizard (Ciarán Hinds), while Elrond (Robert Aramayo) remains steadfast within the fortress of Rivendell. The trailer emphasizes that no one is prepared to oppose the sinister Sauron, who is also forging a new Ring, a concerning development.

Rings of Power's season three promises a gripping narrative, with all peoples of Middle-earth united against Sauron and his army of Orcs. The special trailer reveals a complex web of alliances and conflicts, from familial tensions among the Dwarves in Khazad-dûm to political strife within Númenor. Gandalf employs his magic and persuasion to try and avert the encroaching darkness, as the season concludes with two episodes on November 25. The trailer is now available for viewing.
