Real Madrid secured a dominant 4-1 victory over RB Leipzig in their third straight Champions League win, putting them on an impressive streak of four consecutive wins across all competitions. Bernardo Silva opened the scoring with his first goal for the club since his summer arrival, capitalizing on close-range opportunity late in the first half.
Arda Guler doubled the lead for Madrid just before halftime, extending their winning streak. Kylian Mbappe then added a third goal for the home side before Tidiam Gomis pulled one back for Leipzig. Diomande sealed the win with a powerful volley late in the match, completing Madrid's unblemished record in European competition. Mourinho fielded a tactical lineup, starting Vinicius on the left flank and benching Diomande, despite the latter's recent form.
The coach also made in-field changes, bringing in Silva and Eduardo Camavinga as well as moving Federico Valverde to right-back. Leipzig took an early chance, but Courtois made a crucial save to keep Madrid ahead. Guler's goal marked the third time Madrid had scored four or more goals in a Champions League game this season.
