Critical Role Is Heading to Middle-earth With a Big Lord of the Rings Collaboration
The Critical Role cast is headed for the Lord of the Rings setting in a thrilling new Rings of Power collaboration
Critical Role, the popular online role-playing game, is set to embark on a new adventure in Middle-earth with a collaboration featuring The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power. Scheduled to take place on November 15 during TwitchCon San Diego, the one-shot event will be held in the Glitch Theater starting at 11 AM. The Rings of Power: A Middle-Earth One-Shot will bring together the cast from Critical Role and Prime Video's The Rings of Power for a tabletop adventure.
Liam O'Brien, co-founder of Critical Role and the voice of Vax in the animated series Campaign 1, The Legend of Vox Machina, will be leading the one-shot. The collaboration details, including the specific tabletop game ruleset to be used and which cast members will participate, have yet to be confirmed. While there is a possibility that the one-shot might utilize The One Ring, a TTRPG based on Tolkien's Middle-earth, it remains uncertain whether players will be taking on roles such as trolls and orcs in the game.
As more information emerges closer to the event date, fans can look forward to an exciting collaboration between Critical Role, The Rings of Power, and the beloved world of Middle-earth.
