One of Samsung’s most popular phones is now getting stable One UI 9 with Android 17

Samsung is reportedly working on an Android 18-based One UI 10 update, which could be a significant improvement over previous iterations. Early leaks suggest that this update may bring substantial changes, unlike the more minor adjustments seen in past updates. Rumors have also surfaced regarding the potential introduction of "Galaxy OS," although the validity of this claim is uncertain.

The last major update to One UI was One UI 7 in 2024, which introduced significant changes to the lockscreen and app drawer. Prior to that, One UI 6 was rolled out in 2023 as part of the Android 15 update. Since then, Samsung's updates have been relatively modest, with One UI 8 (Android 16) focusing on quality-of-life tweaks and One UI 8.5 building upon those changes with additional design and functionality improvements.

Given the current state of Android 18, it is difficult to predict what features One UI 10 might include. While other Android brands have been implementing Liquid Glass designs recently, Samsung has yet to adopt this trend. Additionally, the specifics of Android 18 itself are still unclear, making it challenging to anticipate the full scope of One UI 10's capabilities.

However, with Google teasing new graphics features, including "delightful mesh gradients" and "progressive blurs," it is plausible that Samsung could incorporate these advancements into its upcoming One UI 10 update. The Android Dev Summit is expected to provide further details on these developments next week.

For those eagerly awaiting updates to their Samsung devices, the potential for a more substantial One UI 10 release is certainly worth keeping an eye on. Share your thoughts on what you hope to see in One UI 10 in the comments below.
