Atm lancia una nuova academy per formare autisti
Il Driver hub verrà inaugurato negli spazi del Foody business center di Sogemi a Milano. Assunzioni in crescita: dal 2025 oltre 1.100 ingressi
Atm has launched a new academy to train drivers for the local public transport service. The company, which has hired 1,100 drivers since 2025, is investing in their education, accompaniment, and professionalization. The Driver Hub will open its doors on Wednesday at the Foody Business Center in Milan's Lombroso street. The new training facility aims to guide the entry of future drivers into the company step by step.
The first course can accommodate 265 candidates, about 10% of whom are from Tunisia. The new school of training not only supports professional preparation but also fosters aggregation and social interaction. Aspiring drivers will be guided by teachers, theory and driving instructors throughout the process leading to their hiring.
The initiative is part of Atm's efforts to invest 4 million euros in personnel recruitment, onboarding support, and professionalization. This includes housing contributions for the first three months and the cost of D and CQC driving licenses. The strategy has proven effective, with 1,100 new hires since 2025, a stark contrast to the past when more drivers left than joined.
In the 6 classrooms of the Driver Hub, aspiring drivers will participate in courses that will open doors to their hiring. The agenda includes a month of training in approved driving schools, covering 130 hours of theory and 10 hours of driving. In the following five months, they will undergo Atm's training in the new Driver Hub, totaling over 450 hours of theory and 65 hours of practice.
After passing the exam and obtaining the D and CQC licenses, candidates are offered indefinite-term employment and continue their training for five weeks with 65 hours of on-road driving experience on their assigned bus, busway, or tram line.
