AEK Athens secured a decisive victory over City at the Etihad Stadium, thanks in large part to an impressive performance from Manchester City's full-back, Lewis. The 21-year-old, who has made only four appearances across all competitions this season, expressed his excitement over playing the full 90 minutes against the Greek side.
In an interview post-match, Lewis highlighted how this victory would significantly boost his confidence, as he had been somewhat limited in his playing time. "It’s massive," he stated, emphasizing the importance of the result for his self-belief. Lewis also provided insight into his experience under the new manager, Enzo Maresca.
He praised the clear direction and unity within the team, noting that everyone is aligned and working towards the same goal. Despite potential mistakes, Lewis believes that as long as everyone is on the same page, the team can navigate through challenges successfully.
