A New DC Green Lantern Has Officially Been Unveiled
DC Comics has announced Green Lantern: Doomed Cosmos, a new Elseworlds series where the Lanterns look a lot like Warhammer 40K space marines.
Green Lantern: Doomed Cosmos, an Elseworlds miniseries from DC Comics, introduces a novel take on the iconic Green Lantern character. Set in a universe where the Empire of Humanity dominates the cosmos, only the heavily armed Green Lantern Corps stand against them. Writer Dan Watters and artist Kyle Hotz reimagine the Green Lanterns as Space Marines, akin to Warhammer 40,000 soldiers, who are battered, weary, and serving as the underdogs in a cosmic battle.
The series follows Hal Jordan, a human warrior betrayed by his battle-brother Oliver Queen (Green Arrow) and later rescued by the Green Lantern Corps. Resurrected and trained, Jordan becomes the Corps' lone human soldier, tasked with enlisting the fight for peace on even Hell's shores. Green Lantern: Doomed Cosmos will debut in January 2027, with the first issue priced at $4.99 and featuring variant covers by Björn Barends, Steve Beach, and Ashley Wood.
