There's a new free hi-res music streaming app on iPhone and Android with no ads and no subscription

Audiophile.fm has introduced a new app for both Android and iOS devices with a 26 or later operating system, alongside its web version. This free streaming radio service offers CD quality or higher audio, with no subscription, account, or in-app advertisements. The app provides access to internet radio stations streaming in FLAC, covering a variety of genres including jazz, classical, rock, electronic, and more.

The app's creator, Bojan Vidanovic, aimed to provide an easier way to discover and listen to lossless radio stations. Responding positively to the app, many users appreciate its simplicity and high sound quality. The app functions by connecting to internet radio stations that presumably have the necessary permissions and licenses in place to ensure the artists are paid.

Though some stations play ads to cover costs, the app remains ad-free. While the core app remains free, Bojan plans to introduce additional paid features in the future. Despite being a work in progress, the app offers a wide range of music in high-quality audio, making it an attractive alternative for audiophiles seeking a discovery experience beyond the big music services.
