Monza secured a 4-0 victory over Cagliari at the U-Power Stadium, ending the Italian Serie A team's unbeaten four-game run. Gustavo Varela scored twice, while Noel Törnqvist contributed a clean sheet for Monza. Cagliari, who had won their last four away games, including a 1-1 draw with Juventus, were without key player Lorenzo Lucchesi, who is suspended.
Assistant coach Giacomo Murelli led Cagliari from the bench due to the suspension of Fabio Pisacane. Monza, without injured players Matteo Pessina, Idrissa Touré, Jan Ziolkowski, Zeballos, and Mayé, took the lead in the 39th minute through Eddy Kouadio's close-range finish after a pass from Dany Mota. Varela doubled Monza's lead in the 47th minute and added a third in the 79th minute after Jay Robinson's assist. Törnqvist made crucial saves, including two late ones to keep the clean sheet.
