PE supremo Alan Greeff lands his first Algoa Cup with smart filly
Anotherdanceforme ready to whirl on bigger stages.
Alan Greeff, a prominent trainer in Eastern Cape racing, secured his first Algoa Cup triumph with smart filly Anotherdanceforme on Sunday. This Listed race, known as "the PE July," holds a significant place in the region's racing history. Anotherdanceforme's remarkable performance was especially noteworthy as it marked her 13th victory from 15 starts, and she set a new Polytrack course record by 1.45 seconds at the 2000m distance.
This achievement is a promising sign for the future of Eastern Cape racing, which has often been overlooked as the weakest province in South African racing. The success of Anotherdanceforme follows a string of impressive wins for Greeff, including his daughter's filly Golden Palm's Grade 1 success at Greyville in 2025. Despite some recent setbacks, such as My Best Shot's struggles in the Hollywoodbets Durban July and the Betway Summer Cup, Greeff's continued success with Anotherdanceforme suggests a bright future for Halo Stables and Eastern Cape racing in general.
