Karachi Green Line Extension Completion Timeline Revealed

Sindh Governor Syed Muhammad Nehal Hashmi has announced the completion of the extension of Karachi's BRT Green Line from Numaish Chowrangi to Municipal Park near Jama Cloth Market will be finished during the fiscal year 2026-27. The federal government has already released its share of funding for the project. Governor Hashmi visited the site on Saturday and urged the acceleration of work to benefit residents sooner.

The 1.8-kilometer route will see stations built along its length. The federal government has allocated funds for this extension. Governor Hashmi described the Green Line as a significant transport improvement for Karachi citizens, initiated by former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif. Governor Hashmi emphasized that Karachi still requires major transport projects and better commuting options, despite the 18th Constitutional Amendment limiting the federal government's direct involvement in certain development projects.
