Apple's highly anticipated foldable smartphone, the iPhone Duo, has recently opened pre-orders, but potential owners should be aware of its repair costs. The company has listed the estimated service fees for various components on its website. Given the device's premium price, repair expenses could be a significant concern. Apple's estimated repair costs range from RM199 for a cover layer replacement to a staggering RM4,749 for an inner display repair.
Compared to other foldable smartphones, the iPhone Duo's repair costs appear to be higher. Samsung's Galaxy Z Fold6, for example, has a foldable screen replacement cost of up to RM2,329, which is less than half the price of replacing the iPhone Duo's inner display. HONOR's Magic V6 and Huawei's Mate X7 also offer more affordable options for screen replacements, with prices ranging from RM450 to RM1,601. vivo's X Fold5 has a main display replacement cost of RM2,445, while its secondary display is priced at RM700.
