Gameplay Of A Cancelled Assassin’s Creed Game Based In Ancient China Appear Online

Assassin's Creed fans now have a glimpse of a cancelled game that was set in ancient China, discovered online. The game, which had no proper name, is believed to have been codenamed Assassin's Creed Destiny. It was developed by TiMi Studio Group, a subsidiary of Tencent, with Ubisoft and Tencent's publishing arm Level Infinite also involved.

Ubisoft's MP1st reports that the prototype was made a month after the studio announced a restructuring, and the cancellation of Destiny soon followed. The prototype shows stealth kills, parkour, and a leap of faith, all familiar elements of the series. Additionally, a bladed umbrella-like weapon is featured, reminiscent of historical dramas.

The game was intended for a full AAA release on consoles and PC. There is another Assassin's Creed title set in ancient China called Jade, which is a mobile-exclusive and also developed by TiMi. Jade was first announced in 2022, but development has been relatively quiet since then. Ubisoft confirmed in March that Jade is still in development.
