DPM Dar arrives in Tajikistan for high-level SCO moot

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar has arrived in Tajikistan to lead Pakistan's delegation at the upcoming Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) meeting. Dar was greeted upon arrival by Tajikistan's Minister of Energy and Water Resources Daler Juma, Pakistan's Ambassador to Tajikistan Irfan Ahmed, and Pakistan's national coordinator for the SCO, Khalil Hashmi, along with senior Tajik government officials.

The SCO's Council of Heads of Government (CHG) meeting, where Dar is attending, is set to take place from October 19-20. The CHG, the SCO's second-highest decision-making body, is responsible for guiding the organisation on economic, financial, trade, connectivity, and socio-economic cooperation, as well as budgetary matters. During his visit, Dar will also meet with Tajikistan's president and prime minister, as well as hold bilateral meetings with his counterparts from other SCO member states.
