Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar has arrived in Tajikistan's capital, Dushanbe, to lead Pakistan's delegation at the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Council of Heads of Government (CHG) meeting. The two-day meeting, scheduled for October 19-20, aims to discuss economic, financial, trade, connectivity, and socio-economic cooperation, as well as budgetary matters among the SCO member states.
Dar, who was received by Tajikistan's Minister of Energy and Water Resources, Daler Juma, and other senior government officials, will also hold bilateral meetings with his counterparts from other SCO member states during his visit. Pakistan currently holds the chairmanship of the SCO Council of Heads of State (CHS) for 2027, and Dar chaired a follow-up meeting in October to review preparations for the upcoming SCO CHS summit, which Islamabad is set to host.
