Bollywood actor Tiger Shroff survives shooting in Mumbai

Bollywood actor Tiger Shroff has survived a shooting incident in Mumbai without sustaining any gunshot wounds, according to Indian police investigating the matter. The 36-year-old was targeted on Sunday evening as he was leaving a football club in Juhu suburb. Video footage circulated by several news outlets showed at least two gunmen firing multiple shots at close range from the front passenger seat of a moving car.

This incident has raised concerns about the safety of public figures in India, with some targeted in past years, resulting in fatalities or injuries. Maharashtra state deputy chief minister Eknath Shinde visited Shroff after the attack, expressing his shock and stating that the actor and his mother were left shaken. Two individuals were injured in the shooting, including Shroff's driver.

This is the latest in a series of attacks on prominent Indian public figures in recent years. In 2024, two members of a criminal gang were arrested for a gun attack on Bollywood actor Salman Khan's residence. Also in 2024, influential Indian politician Baba Siddique was shot dead in Mumbai. Shroff, the son of two actors, made his acting debut in 2014 with the film 'Heropanti' and has since starred in numerous movies. He is also an avid football player, representing the professional football club Mumbai FC.
