Axonius launches AI Workforce virtual workers as AI Companion and MCP Server go live

Asset intelligence firm Axonius Inc. has introduced Axonius AI Workforce, a suite of AI-powered virtual workers, to its Asset Cloud platform. These virtual workers are designed to take over follow-up work that security teams often lack time for, addressing issues that arise due to fragmented asset data spread across numerous tools.
Axonius unveiled AI Workforce, AI Companion, and MCP Server in July, all now in general availability. The AI Companion can understand natural language queries about a customer's environment and respond by performing tasks such as opening tickets or tagging devices. Meanwhile, the MCP Server enables these virtual workers to access the same asset data through the Model Context Protocol.
The AI Workforce suite comprises over 50 virtual workers, each responsible for specific security outcomes like exposure triage, shadow AI management, and readiness for post-quantum cryptography. Each worker tracks metrics tied to its outcome, allowing teams to monitor improvements without the need to build custom reports.
When an asset deviates from its expected state, the responsible worker automatically executes the necessary fix, which is then documented in a Daily Digest ranked by urgency. A mode setting controls the extent of a worker's autonomy, with options ranging from strict human oversight to full automation. Outbound messages and system changes are held for approval before execution to maintain security.
Each customer operates a private large language model instance within its dedicated environment, with every action from the AI agents recorded as either agent-driven or human-driven in an audit trail. Moshe Ben Simon, Axonius' chief product officer, emphasized that the company's platform integrates over 1,400 bidirectional integrations, providing a reliable foundation for AI Workforce.
Theresa Lanowitz, a principal analyst at Omdia, highlighted the direct connection between the launch of AI Workforce, AI Companion, and MCP Server and a verified view of the environment. She anticipates that this combination, along with human oversight where necessary, will help distinguish trustworthy AI-driven security tools from those that merely contribute to noise.
AI Workforce is now available to Axonius customers, with security engineering teams able to monitor AI credit usage and costs associated with the virtual workers.
