'We like defense.' Carmel soccer proving it, winning regional crown by shutout
Underrated? Carmel boys' soccer leaning on defense, defeats Brownsburg to win regional title.
Carmel Greyhounds, the defending Class 3A state champions, are known for their strong defensive play, and they showcased it again in the regional title game. Entering the tournament as an underdog, the Greyhounds won their fifth shutout of the season, defeating No. 18 Brownsburg 1-0 in a match that saw little statistical dominance from either team. Senior goalkeeper Robert Morgan made 35 saves, securing his 13th shutout of the season and helping the Greyhounds clinch their eighth regional title since 1997.
