Walk-In A booking platform for creators who work from a cafe table

My friend reads tarot at cafes in Mumbai: Blondie in Khar on Saturdays, Janu in Juhu on Sundays, Blondie House when they have a table free. He's good at it. What he's bad at is everything around it, and so is everyone else who works from a cafe table. Three things go wrong, and none of them are about the readings: 1.Bookings live in WhatsApp chats. Two people ask for the same 6 PM slot, and…

A Mumbai-based friend who reads tarot at various cafes discovered that managing bookings was a cumbersome process, often involving WhatsApp chats and memory. He noticed common issues: multiple people requesting the same time slot, regulars forgetting to return after personalized messages, and difficulty in determining the best seats and times.

This prompted him to create Walk-In, a booking platform catered to independent creators who work from cafes, including tarot readers, mehendi artists, caricaturists, nail artists, and musicians.

Walk-In offers a simple solution for customers to discover nearby creators, view their services, and book a slot without creating an account or making online payments. Payments are made directly at the session. For creators, Walk-In provides a dedicated booking page, QR code for their table, flexible scheduling, booking management, and AI-assisted messages in English, Hindi, or Hinglish.

The platform employs two locally hosted AI models: Gemma 4 for generating personalized messages and TabPFN v2 for predicting the best days, times, and cafes based on past performances. The creators are kept anonymous using dummy profiles, enabling safe bookings. The entire process is demonstrated in a demo video available at https://youtu.be/FMEW_k7tLPo.

The platform is currently running on a laptop, ensuring easy access to its functionality.
