Trump's Iran endgame comes with a fuel-price vow

U.S. President Donald Trump asserted confidence in a swift resolution to the ongoing conflict with Iran during a rally in Kentucky. In his speech, Trump stated that an end to hostilities would result in lower gas prices for American consumers. He recounted previous military actions against Iranian targets, claiming they had effectively neutralized Tehran's nuclear ambitions.

Trump emphasized the priority of preventing an Iran with nuclear weapons for national security, asserting that the strikes successfully destroyed Iran's nuclear capacity. Meanwhile, Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister, Saeed Khatibzadeh, warned that continued fighting would prolong regional tensions and reiterated Iran's commitment to ending the Israeli conflict in Lebanon.

He also criticized the United States and Israel for breaching the Islamabad memorandum of understanding, which aimed to facilitate peace talks. Khatibzadeh maintained that Iran would respond to any international inquiries regarding its peaceful nuclear program and remained ready to reopen the Strait of Hormuz within seven days.
