JP Pietersen said the Sharks played for their old teammate Hyron Andrews in their Challenge Cup defeat of Lyon.
Sharks coach JP Pietersen honored the memory of former lock Hyron Andrews with a dramatic 40-33 Challenge Cup victory over Lyon. Pietersen spoke of Andrews' passing on Friday, stating that the win was dedicated to the memory of the fallen player. The Sharks staged a remarkable comeback, scoring an 82nd-minute try by wing Litelihle Bester to level the match at 33-33, just moments after Lyon's scrumhalf Baptiste Couilloud had scored a converted try.
Pietersen praised his team's character and identity, stating that the victory demonstrated the qualities he wants his players to exhibit on tour. The Sharks will continue their European tour with upcoming URC matches against Cardiff and Munster.
