QRCS hosts managing IFRC Operations Training

The Qatar Red Crescent Society (QRCS) recently hosted a Managing Operations Training (MOT) workshop organized by the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC). The one-week event aimed to enhance the professional and operational capacity of disaster response personnel and facilitate experience-sharing between national societies and the federation.

The workshop attracted 44 specialists who had already completed the mandatory virtual pre-courses from IFRC and 17 national societies from various countries. QRCS assistant secretary-general Mohamed Bader al-Sada emphasized the importance of the MOT workshop in strengthening humanitarian operations management capacity, co-ordination, and decision-making in the face of increasingly complex crises and disasters.

IFRC Mena deputy regional director Cristhian Cortez highlighted the need for resilient national societies and greater preparedness for future emergencies, stressing that successful operational management should leave behind stronger national societies and improved resilience.
