Qatar Charity launches ‘Winter Heroes’ Campaign for vulnerable communities worldwide

Qatar Charity has introduced its 2026 "Winter Heroes" campaign to offer crucial aid to vulnerable families grappling with harsh weather and protracted humanitarian crises. The initiative aims to gather QAR 120 million for winter relief, humanitarian support, and development projects worldwide, alongside social welfare programs in Qatar.

The campaign was unveiled at a press conference attended by QC's Executive Director of Communications and Community Impact, Abdulaziz Jassim Hejji, and Director of Humanitarian Operations, Aisha Abdulrazzaq AlKuwari.

Hejji highlighted the campaign's aim to broaden the concept of humanitarian heroism to encompass not only those enduring harsh winters but also those supporting others and alleviating their suffering. He emphasized the importance of proactive giving and preparedness, urging donors and volunteers to contribute early to prevent worsening conditions. Hejji also noted the involvement of children in awareness-raising activities, encouraging them to become active participants in humanitarian efforts.

Aisha Abdulrazzaq AlKuwari, Director of Humanitarian Operations, clarified that the campaign would prioritize supporting the most vulnerable individuals in countries affected by disasters and prolonged humanitarian crises, as well as communities facing extreme cold. The targeted countries include Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Lebanon, Sudan, Somalia, Djibouti, Kenya, Kyrgyzstan, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Albania, and Kosovo. Assorted supplies like blankets, clothing, heaters, food, and cooking stoves will be distributed.

AlKuwari highlighted that part of the funds would go towards supporting orphans sponsored by Qatar Charity, aiming to provide them with safer living conditions and alleviate seasonal pressures on low-income households. In Qatar, the campaign will extend support to low-income families, orphan households, and workers, along with health assistance and tailored support, fostering social solidarity and easing the hardships faced by vulnerable families during winter.
