Priest accused of sexually harassing minor boys arrested
The victim said he narrated the sexual harassment to his parents, and they all went to the Mangaluru Bishop. On his instructions, he was giving the complaint, the boy said.
Priest Siprian Pinto, a clergy member at St. Vincent Ferrar Church in Mangaluru's Valencia, has been arrested by police for sexually harassing five 14-year-old boys. The allegations stem from a complaint filed with the Mangaluru South police on October 15, according to the source. One of the victims recounted how Pinto offered him a chocolate, smiled at him, and then allegedly took him to a church room for inappropriate touching.
On subsequent visits, Pinto allegedly touched the boys' genital areas. The boys reportedly informed each other of the incidents, leading the victim to tell his parents. The parents, under the guidance of the Mangaluru Bishop, lodged the complaint, as reported. The police will present Pinto before a magistrate following interrogation and procedural completion.
