Police seek two suspects after officer shot in Nottingham city centre

Nottingham police are searching for two suspects who fled the scene following a shooting that left an officer with a foot injury in the city centre. The incident occurred around 4:50 am on Sunday, when the officer encountered two individuals in Angel Row. Nottinghamshire Police are investigating the crime, including tracking down the man and woman who escaped.

Authorities have recovered a firearm and a sawn off double-barreled shotgun was displayed at the scene. A heightened police presence remains in the area. An assistant chief constable praised the quick actions of bystanders who helped the injured officer before emergency services arrived. The officer is currently in stable condition in hospital.

There is no evidence of a broader threat to the public. Nottingham East Labour MP Nadia Whittome and the Police Federation of England and Wales have both offered their support to the injured officer. The public is encouraged to provide any information related to the incident.
