LaLiga: I would have left Real Madrid if I were Vinicius Junior - Mourinho

Real Madrid manager Jose Mourinho revealed he would have left the club during the summer transfer window if he were winger Vinicius Junior. The Brazilian forward's decision to stay in Spain despite facing a lack of respect, demonstrated the esteem he commands. Despite the challenges and mistreatment Vinicius Jr faced, Mourinho stressed his deep admiration for the player, noting they maintain a strong relationship.

He emphasized that Vinicius Jr has the ability to make a transfer during the summer window, but chose to stay due to his emotional attachment to Madrid and the city. Mourinho stated, "He is a spectacular guy, and it's easy to have a good relationship with him. I spend a few minutes alone with him every single day. I value him tremendously because he always manages to get by, to survive, with a smile on his face."

If he were in Vinicius Jr's shoes, Mourinho wouldn't have stayed. However, given his devotion to Madrid and the belief that circumstances will improve, he decided to renew his contract and maintain a positive outlook. Mourinho highlighted that Vinicius Jr had multiple options during the summer transfer window, but his decision to stay showcases his outstanding character.
