I’ve been diabetic since 1996 — Jide Kosoko

Veteran Nollywood actor Jide Kosoko, 72, has revealed that he has been living with diabetes since 1996. In an interview on YouTube, Kosoko stated that his long-term experience with the condition has given him a deeper understanding of his health. He emphasized that he is not claiming to possess all medical knowledge but simply aims to avoid death.

Kosoko also shared personal information about losing three wives, including Bidemi Kosoko, mother of his daughter. The actor began his career in theater as a child in 1964 and formed his own group in 1972, becoming one of the pioneers of the Nigerian film industry. He praised the impact of social media, initially fearing it but now utilizing it to their advantage. Kosoko advised parents to treat their children equally and ensure each feels valued.
