I’ve been a smart home user for 10 years, and the Apple HomeView looks like a game-changer
From intrusive ads to clunky software, the smart home landscape has a lot of room to improve. The HomeView could help.
The Apple HomeView, a smart display with a built-in screen, is set to launch on November 13. With rumors of this product persisting since 2021, the wait is finally over. Priced at $299, the HomeView offers an array of features for those already invested in Apple's ecosystem. This includes a dual dashboard system, hands-free recipe navigation, deeper Siri AI integration, and seamless FaceTime calls.
The display can automatically switch between a shared household view and a personalized screen for up to six household members, thanks to facial recognition. Powered by Apple Intelligence and the A18 chip, Siri AI on the HomeView can handle follow-up questions, mid-sentence corrections, and complex multi-part commands. Additionally, the HomeView supports hands-free FaceTime, messages, calls, and intercom functionality, making it a powerful addition to any smart home setup.
